TARDIS Smelter room

Hi - anyone know how to use the TARDIS Smelter room? Is any of it automated (eg the chest in the middle of the room?)

Here's what I think so far:
- place coal directly into each furnace
- place material to be smelted into the chests above the furnaces
- collect smelted material from the chests in front of the furnaces

Ok - so a bit more experimenting and I think you need to put multiples of 16 items in the middle chest to get them to automatically transfer to the furnaces

I grew the room myself, I'm quite unsure how it works though. It was built by Airomis who, if I remember correctly said that the upper chests of the furnaces was were the fuel was supposed to go, I don't know if this is how it's done, but I'd recommend asking Air about it.
