PVP Broken and Possibly Mob Spawning

So yeah, I killed my bro several accidental times and i;'m pretty sure that's not supposed to happen anywhere but the arena. Also, mobs seem to be spawning in fully lit areas. Don't know if its a bug or just imagination.

I was having a problem with mobs spawning in lit areas as well, glad it wasn't just me

I havent had any issues with mob spawning in lit areas.. Are you sure that all the blocks in that area are above light level 7 ?

I think some of the ceiling blocks may go below that, I'll try with some more torches when I could be bothered to
